Working with Recruiters: How They can Help you Find a Job

Hiring new employees is a big job and a challenging one, especially for employers who do not have a dedicated in-house team to manage the company’s recruitment. This is why so many businesses use recruitment companies and why working with recruiters is one way that you can find a new job.

The majority of employers do not have their own HR teams which is why there are so many recruitment companies with so many opportunities out there. Recruiters advertise vacancies on their own websites as well as through other avenues on behalf of the employer. They know a lot about their clients and what they are looking for, so they can help you to show an employer that you are “it”.

Here’s why working with recruiters could be a good move for you:

    Recruiters want to help

Recruitment companies work in a way where they do not make any money until they place people in jobs. It is therefore in their best interest to work with candidates throughout the entire recruitment process. You share an end goal which is receiving a job offer.

This does raise the question as to whether recruiters are actually trying to help you find the right role, or whether they are just trying to get you any job so that they can make a profit. The majority of recruiters do genuinely care about their candidates, but it does not hurt to be wary and check out company reviews if you are unsure about their intentions.

Recruiters know a lot about the company you are interviewing for

If you are offered an interview with an employer after being put forward by a recruiter then they should be able to give you some great tips for the next step. This is because recruiters (at least the good ones) know their clients’ businesses very well and it is their job to recognise the kinds of people, experience and skills that get job offers.

A recruiter should be able to help you with preparing for your interview by passing on any inside knowledge or advice that they have. This will enable you to walk into your interview feeling confident and fully prepared.

Recruiters know about CVs and interviews

As you may expect, recruiters see a lot of CVs on a daily business and they can quickly spot the good from the bad. If you are unsuccessful in your application with a recruitment company then you have a great opportunity to request feedback from a CV and interview expert.

What makes working with recruiters so useful when looking for your next opportunity, is that ultimately you have that shared goal in mind. Make an effort to seek out the recruitment companies that are right for what you are looking for, check up on their reviews and then work with them to make the next step in your career.
