What Are The Highest Paying UK Construction Jobs?

Looking for a high-paying career? Well, look no further than at construction jobs in the UK. There are numerous positions and job roles within the construction industry that pay well and can provide you with a comfortable living. These highest paying UK construction jobs are just waiting for you to apply and bring your work ethic to this rewarding industry.

    Commercial Manager

The highest-paying construction position in the UK is the commercial manager. In this role, you would be responsible for managing the financial aspects of a project or multiple projects at the same time. Additionally, you’ll have subordinates who report to you that you will need to manage as well. It is up to commercial managers to ensure all stakeholders are on the same page about contracts and obligations to ensure a project is completed on time and on budget.

There are various levels of commercial manager, including assistant commercial manager, general commercial manager, and senior commercial manager. The annual salary ranges from approximately £38,000 to more than £75,000.

    Construction Manager

As the title indicates, construction managers are responsible for the on-site construction elements of a project. Construction managers make sure everyone from employees and contractors to job-site visitors follow the required Health & Safety guidelines. This is a critical job role because safety is always the top priority on a job site.

A construction manager will also execute the project plan to ensure the project is delivered on time and on budget. Although the commercial manager is ultimately responsible for the timeline and budget, the on-site construction manager is responsible for putting those plans in action. The annual salary for construction managers ranges between approximately £33,000 to over £78,000.

    Design Manager

If you’d rather be involved with the design of a structure and project rather than directly with the actual construction, a design manager is a great option. Design managers take care of managing all design aspects of a construction project from inception to completion. They communicate with all stakeholders, including architects and engineers to ensure designs are coordinated and complementary.

Design managers are essential to a project’s success, as they ensure everyone involved with the design is on the same page. The annual salary of a design manager begins at about £62,500 and tops out at more than £70,000 for a senior design manager.

    Project Manager

Project managers typically manage portions of a construction project and report to the construction manager. They are responsible for smaller parts of the project, so there will likely be several project managers on a single construction project. They ensure their part of the project is completed on time and on budget so the construction manager can complete the full project on time and on budget.

The annual salary of a project manager averages about £68,000.

    Conclusion

Whether you want a hands-on role on a construction site or you would rather be a manager or designer, there is a construction job for you in the UK. You can make a nice living and take pride in knowing you had a part in the final product.
