    Becoming an Accountant: An Extensive Guide

    If you’ve got an analytical mind, a passion for numbers and are looking for a career that could make you A LOT of money, accounting could be for you!

    If you’re interested in becoming an Accountant then the first thing you’ll want to do is look further into the different areas available. These include auditing, financial accounting, management accounting, tax accounting and forensic accounting. There are also a number of other specialist accountancy areas that may interest you.

    Once you’ve explored these key areas, you’ll want to establish what qualifications you’ll need to complete, such as an ATT qualification. Accountancy is open to anyone from school leavers to graduates and people of all ages, however, you will need to have a high level of academic ability.

    The most common way to get started is to complete a finance or accounting degree. There is also the option to study to become an accountant whilst gaining work experience at the same time within an accountancy firm. However, you get started in the accountancy profession you will continue to develop professionally throughout your career and will be required to keep up with regulations and guidelines which are constantly being adapted to our ever-changing world.
