How to Start to Work in the Gambling Industry?

    0
By CareerExperts on 19th August 2021 Choosing Your Career, Graduate Careers

The gambling industry is worth billions of dollars, and the figure increases every year. Therefore, it’s the ideal market to build a lucrative career. While the casino industry employs thousands, there’s room for more as the global demand is on a steady growth curve. Although there are several lucrative career options in the gambling industry, we’ll discuss five of them in this article.

Top 5 Career Options in the Gambling Industry

While you might have thought about enrolling yourself in some of the professions we’re about to discuss, remember that nothing comes easy. Building a career in an alternate profession takes time. Hence, take the advice of Betpack’s team and be patient, diligent, and creative in your approach.

    Work for a Design Studio

Creative design studios are always working on new casino games to keep the players entertained. They’re always in need of new ideas and talents to outperform the competition. Several reputed companies will hire you if you have a novel idea for a video slot or the necessary expertise to design games. The challenge is to develop a game that won’t just appeal to the players but also generate revenue for the casino.

Join an Online Casino or a Poker Room

Online casinos and poker rooms need people to keep the operations running seamlessly. Although brick-and-mortar establishments employ a larger workforce, COVID-19 has severely impacted operations, forcing casinos to scale down. Online casinos have risen to the occasion. Websites need developers, coders, and support staff to keep serving the players. At the same time, live dealer rooms need dealers to interact with the players and engineers to maintain the setup.

    Become a Croupier

Croupiers or dealers are in charge of hosting table games on the casino floor. They usually sit or stand at the table dealing cards, dispense chips and other props, or operate the equipment. Dealers are also in charge of collecting bets and distributing winnings. The average salary is £10/hour. However, the career growth rate isn’t the best compared to some other jobs in the industry.

Train to be a Gaming Surveillance Officer

The primary task of a Gaming Surveillance Officer is to patrol the casino floor electronically or physically if required. They’re tasked with keeping an eye on things and preventing any untoward incidents from occurring. Gaming Surveillance Officers aren’t your run-of-the-mill security guards since the job needs them to keep a strict lookout for gambling malpractices too. Most casinos provide on-the-job training to freshers, and the salary increases with experience. The prospects are among the best in the gambling industry.

    Be a Pit Boss

The Pit Boss is the manager of an entire casino floor. Each casino section is operated like an independent business called the “pit”, and the managers are responsible for the gaming action, revenue, and rewards. Pit bosses report directly to the casino management and supervise the employees. They’re in charge of smoothly running everyday operations.
